Front Entry Door Refinishing

Front Entry Door Refinishing

Margate, NJ

This front entry door had a faded brown finish that no longer complemented the home’s exterior. Its design included multiple small decorative glass panes, requiring detailed masking and careful preparation before the new coating could be applied.

The surrounding entry, glass panes, and adjacent surfaces were thoroughly taped and protected with plastic. The existing door finish was sanded to remove imperfections and create proper adhesion, followed by a full coat of primer. After the primer cured, the door was sanded again to refine the surface before the finish paint was applied.

The door was spray finished with exterior satin black paint, producing smooth, consistent coverage around the detailed glass layout. The new black finish restored the entrance, highlighted the door’s architectural details, and created a stronger focal point for the front of the home.

This was one of several projects completed for the homeowner, including first-floor LVP flooring and extensive atrium painting and spackle repairs, with additional porch and bathroom renovations being considered.
