Historic Vestibule Plaster Restoration
Allentown, PAThis project restored the water-damaged plaster walls and ceiling inside the vestibule of a 100-year-old home following a previously repaired roof leak. Although the source of the water intrusion had already been corrected, loose plaster, damaged finishes, and visible staining remained throughout the space.
The deteriorated plaster was carefully removed, and sections of the original framing were reinforced to provide secure backing for the repairs. New drywall patches were installed and seamlessly blended into the surrounding plaster using multiple stages of joint compound, sanding, and surface preparation.
To eliminate the remaining signs of damage and create a consistent finish, the entire vestibule—including the walls and ceiling—was primed and repainted. The completed restoration returned the entrance to a clean, uniform condition while preserving the character of the century-old home.
