Three-Season Mudroom-to-Laundry Room Conversion

Three-Season Mudroom-to-Laundry Room Conversion

Tuckerton, NJ

This Tuckerton home originally had its washer and dryer located in the basement, making everyday laundry unnecessarily inconvenient. To create a more accessible main-level laundry area, the existing rear mudroom was completely finished and converted into a comfortable, year-round laundry room.

The original room was enclosed only with storm windows and a storm door, leaving it unsuitable for permanent conditioned use. All of the storm windows were removed, the exterior openings were reframed, and two standard windows were installed. The storm door was also replaced with a proper exterior entry door.

Inside, the room received new insulation, drywall, electrical service, laundry hookups, and a dedicated baseboard heater. New flooring, baseboards, paint, and an interior door connecting the laundry room to the main house completed the transformation. What had been a basic three-season entry became a fully finished and functional extension of the home.
