Window Flashing, AZEK Trim & Siding Restoration
Waretown, NJThis Waretown project began as part of an insurance claim involving water intrusion around several exterior windows. The home’s original oversized windows had been removed and replaced with pairs of standard-size windows, but the exterior was left in a condition that had been presented to the homeowners as complete.
Because the homeowners wanted to be certain the replacement windows were properly protected, Nilson Remodeling was brought in to inspect and correct the installation. After removing the existing exterior trim—which had been fastened with framing nails—we discovered that no flashing had been installed around the windows.
Each window opening was properly flashed to protect against future water intrusion. New white AZEK trim was then fabricated and installed around three window groupings, including the detailed inside corners and returns between the paired windows. The surrounding siding was removed and replaced, matching the existing siding wherever possible and creating clean transitions around utilities and the foundation.
